It is well said that "Everything we love about civilization is a product of intelligence, so amplifying our human intelligence with artificial intelligence has the potential of helping civilization flourish like never before – as long as we manage to keep the technology beneficial."
Artificial Intelligence's impact on society motivates the researchers to keep on developing new things , which can make our lives easier , and now the researchers have come up with a way by which A.I can predict premature deaths.
According to a study by PLOS ONE journal, found that machine learning models such as Random Forests and Deep Learning were very accurate in predicting and gave better results than the human experts in predicting the premature deaths.
There was a traditional method called "Cox regression" model which predicted the deaths using gender and age, but it was also found less accurate at predicting mortality. For the study , the team included over half a million people aged between 40 and 69.
Although these techniques could be new to many in health research and difficult to follow, clearly reporting these methods in a transparent way could help with scientific verification and future development of AI for health care, said Joe Kai, professor at the varsity.
